Happy Birthday! Now go straight to prison

As sticklers for details will do sometimes, I was looking up the date of birth today for a guy sentenced in a shooting to correctly identify his age, and it turned out to be his birthday.

It happened at 12th Avenue and Gambell Street, the sometimes nexus of the universe, or at least Anchorage. (Just today at 12th and Gambell a slouched back man was crossing the street with a two-foot long section of wood in each hand. For what, we're not so sure.)

According to the Anchorage District Attorneys Office, a guy was there on May 23, saw James Blair and called him "no good" and a "punk."

So Blair shot him, once in the thigh and once in the arm.

He pleaded guilty yesterday. Today was his birthday.
